ABOUT THE SHOW:

A Tony Award Winning Musical.  Here is an evening of energetic, sardonic, often comic musical numbers about an aspiring stage composer during a medical emergency.  Gordon Michael Schwinn collapses and awaits diagnosis in the hospital, surrounded by his maritime-enthusiast lover, his mother, a co-worker, a doctor and the nurses.  He worries that he will never get to write the musicals in his head and he hallucinates episodes involving people from his past and present.  What was thought to be a tumor turns out to be something more operable and, still surrounded by his extended family, Gordon recovers, grateful for a second chance to compose all those songs.  The score is filled with beguiling, buoyant melody, the lyrics witty and original...The kind of musical theatre invention we have come to expect from this gifted artist.
